The area east of Malaga and Axarquia are not yet as developed as the other side. Some of the main towns east of Malaga is well known, such as Nerja, Lake Viñuela, Torre del Mar and Almuñecar. The area has seen good growth since the motorway was extended, and it is now possible to drive from the airport in Malaga to Torre del Mar in 35 minutes.

  The motorway 
  Transport to the east side of Malaga and Axarquia is very easy with the new free motorway. It has 2 - 3 lanes are the access ramps are more secure than seen on the old N340 motorway on the west side of Malaga.
